High School Girls to Attend Ursuline College's Nursing Career Day Oct. 2nd
Nearly 150 area high school students will travel to Ursuline College’s campus to learn
firsthand about the hottest careers in nursing at Ursuline College’s Nursing as a
Career: A Day of Exploration, October 2nd, 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM, 2550 Lander Road Pepper
Pike, OH.
“This is a rare opportunity for juniors and seniors to learn about how careers in nursing have changed over the years and hear from nursing experts in flight nursing, pediatrics, critical care, obstetrics and intensive care,” said Jackie Cannarella, M.S.N., assistant professor of nursing at Ursuline’s Breen School of Nursing.
Participants will attend several 20-minute sessions to learn more about in areas nursing such as medical-surgical nursing, community health and flight nursing.
According to the Dean of Ursuline’s Breen School of Nursing, Christine Wynd, it is important to get high school students interested in careers in nursing due to the current nursing shortage accruing nationwide. “It makes sense with Ursuline’s extensive experience in nursing education to be a leader in providing a platform for high schoolers to explore career opportunities and get a glimpse of the many exciting career paths that are available,” said Wynd.
The Breen School of Nursing is one of Ursuline’s largest academic programs and prepares clinically competent nurses for both the basic (BSN) and advanced practice (MSN) levels. It is fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education and approved by the Ohio Board of Nursing and its graduates achieve the highest scores on national licensure exams and a 100% employment rate. Ursuline offers traditional BSN, LPN to BSN, RN to BSN, accelerated BSN, and MSN degrees.
