Adult Nurse Practitioner Program (39 Credits)
An Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP) provides primary care either independently or as part of an
adult care team. There is an emphasis on health maintenance, disease prevention, counseling,
and patient education.

Palliative Care Subspecialty Concentration (24 credits)
Palliative care represents an approach to care that provides a combination of active and compassionate therapies intended to comfort and support patients and families who are living with life-threatening illness. The nurse learns to emphasize sensitivity to and respect for the religious, cultural and personal beliefs, values and traditions of those patients with critical illness.

Education Subspecialty Concentration (39 Credits)
This concentration can be added to one of the two advanced practitioner programs by incorporating three courses in curriculum design, evaluation and assessment, and student teaching. Graduates are prepared to teach undergraduate nursing both in the classroom and in the clinical agency.

Post Master's Certification
A post-master's certificate in any of the advanced practice programs or subspecialty concentrations may be obtained by taking the designated courses. Adult or family nurse practitioner post-master’s certification is accomplished by documenting the completion of Advanced Physiology, Advanced Health Assessment, Advanced Pharmacology and Health, Promotion, Maintenance and Restoration. Palliative Care and Education are offered as subspecialty concentrations for MSN students or for post-MSN students.
