College Credit for High School Students
The Ursuline College School of Arts and Sciences invites high school students in the class of 2011 to start earning college credit this summer. If you are interested in a career in chemistry, pharmacy, medicine, engineering or other science-related fields, we hope you will be a part of this exciting program at Ursuline.
As a program participant you will:
The program consists of an intense, informative and exciting two week session, Monday-Thursday, July 12-15 & 19-22 from 9:00-4:00 on the Ursuline campus.
Brown bag lunch provided each day
Program costs, including all materials and tuition, are by Ursuline College and generous community partners, especially the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation.
This program focuses on students who are the first in their family to attend college and on populations who are underrepresented in the sciences.
To apply for the program, students must have a GPA of 3.0 or above and/or ‘C’ minimum grade in Science, Math or English, complete the application form and a 250 word essay on why you would like to participate in this program. You are encouraged to have your teacher complete the optional recommendation form. A $25 deposit payable upon acceptance will be returned to students who attend all eight days of the program.
Review of the applications will begin April 1, 2010 and continue until openings are filled or June 18, whichever occurs first. Dress code requirements will be included in the acceptance package.
